Avanti IsoWhey Sports powerhouse Sean Lake managed to turn the tables on teammate and Chrono specialist Joe Cooper with the pair leading the field in the Oceania Elite Mens Time Trial today.

Earlier in the U23 mens event Oscar Stevenson made a welcome return to the podium with a strong 2nd place ride to put his early season setbacks behind him. Oscars time of 39:32 put him only 28 seconds behind winner Alex Morgan.

In the Elite Men’s race Joe had the benefit of starting last but Sean capitalised on his early season form to reverse the result in the Tour of East Gippsland getting one over his more fancied teammate. Sean manage to eek out a 35 second advantage over Joe by the finish.

Sean was tired but elated after the win. “I’m cooked! I went out a bit hard and really tried to ramp it up in the slow sections. I was just holding on at the finish but I managed to stick to my plan and averaged 430w.”

The road race starts on Saturday with a combined Elite / U23 field.
