Gunman Wins New Zealand Cycle Classic

Avanti Racings Taylor Gunman has taken out the biggest win of his career triumphing in New Zealands biggest race and only UCI tour. Having held the lead since the third stage Gunman’s winning margin was only one second over teammate Jason Christie.

Taylors win capped a hugely successful week for the team with two stage wins and the team classification adding to their haul. The win was a true team achievment in every aspect with tireless work by Joe, Fraser and Tom who spent countless kilometers on the front and policing breakaways to ensure Taylor and Jason were always in reach. The win wasn’t without drama though with Taylor falling from a touch of wheels with 20km to go.  In respect of the yellow jersey the peleton slowed allowing Taylor to rejoin the race before fighting for the win.

In what has been a busy and successful start to the season the team will have little time for reflection as they saddle up again on Wednesday for the Herald Sun Tour in Australia.
